For 7 years, I was grinding as a Product Manager in a big healthcare company (UHG)—doing “everything right.”

 At first, I really wanted to make an impact. I was passionate. But I learned real quick:

Corporate doesn’t reward extra effort.

So I did just enough to get by while trying every side hustle under the sun, looking for my exit.

 Explorist – My first business was a mission-driven clothing brand where we donated 50% of profits to get inner-city kids into nature. Great  concept, but… we failed fast (after taking 30+ inner city Chicago youth out for nature excursions, so still a win in my book)

High-Performance Coaching – My Tony Robbins era. Went all in on helping professionals level up. I stacked an extra $50K per year, had deeply impactful coaching experiences, and even spoke on stages to audiences of 500+. But I burned out—coaching 1:1 wasn’t scalable.

Why was I building other people’s businesses instead of my own?
